Scarth's Blog: When Sledding isn't fun with Andrew Burns

Andrew and I went up snowmobiling today, we were by ourselves because Rusty Ockenden and Mikey Pedersen are afraid of the sky when its not filled with blue birds. Anyways, we didnt need them cause we killed it, they would have just gotten in the way. Halfway up the trail, Andrews pull cord broke, so he had to start his sled with a little rope wrapped around the clutch.  Good times.

When we got up the the alpine, Andrew shut off his sled so we could discuss our plan of attack.  Once we figured out what we wanted to do, he tried to start his sled, but alas, it would not run.  We tried everything.  Full gas, no gas, full choke, no choke, gas in the cylinders, gas in the airbox, cleaning the spark plugs, etc., and every combination of the above.  Finally we found out that the sled was getting no spark, so we decided to cook some hot dogs and try to shoot something.

This is Andrew having the opposite of FUN!

Hmmm, hot dogs.

Jumps!

Towing...

My sled kept overheating from towing Burns' sled on near ice conditions in the lower elevations.

3 hours later we make it back to the trucks, all in all it was worth it cause we got a few nice photos.  Sometimes you have to go up on the shitty days to remind yourself of just how shitty it can be...  I love it...
