The first Canadian stop of the DC Ride Along Tour Two took place in Edmonton on November 20, 2010. With a team made up of Devun Walsh, Iikka Backstrom, Lauri Heiskari, Raewyn Reid, Andrew Geeves and Jody Wachniak, we had our hands full. After dropping our goods off at the Westin Hotel, we headed out to our first shop visit at Plush Skateboards and Snowboards. The goal was simple; catch up with owner Glen Suggit and spread the news about DC.

From there we gathered up our skateboards and headed over to skate the West49 indoor park inside the West Edmonton Mall. After signing a few skateboards for their wall, we headed over to Easy Rider to meet up with our DC sales rep, Josh Banks. Upon arrival we cracked a few brews, signed some autographs, and gave away a board to one of the staff members.

The following morning we all piled into our Caravans for a day of riding at Rabbit Hill. We were told the mountain was keen on getting a park build for the arrival of the DC team. Not knowing what to expect, we were blown away by a rail garden complete with a huge hip. Big shout out to the locals, as well as Easy Rider for hooking up lift tickets for the DC team.

When the session started to die down, we gathered everybody around for a very aggressive product toss, complete with multiple photo ops, and board signings. Thanks again to everyone that showed up for a shred session that set the bar for one of the best opening days at Rabbit Hill.

The second stop on the tour landed us at Canada Olympic Park, in Calgary. Given that the snow guns were blazing all day, a bit of extra snow was on hand to slash by the team. Devun and Iikka practiced using their new Go Pro camera while Geeves and Jody sessioned the boxes and rails inside the park. After a short lunch break we headed outside to round up all the kids for another product toss.

Once back at our hotel we had a major soak in the rooftop hot tub. Then we were off to The Source to meet with their sales team and give their staff another run-though of the new gear.
DC would like to thank the great people at Plush, Easy Rider, The Source, Rabbit Hill, West49, Canada Olympic Park and most of all, the brave people who came out to ride with the team.
The East Coast Tour hits the Toronto and Montreal areas November 26.
