Final Exam: Layne Treeter

Apr 26, 2013

Author: SBC

Final Exam: Layne Treeter

Sponsors: Stepchild, Union, ThirtyTwo, Etnies, Ashbury, The Source, Salmon Arms, Dope Industries

Hometown: Edmonton, Alberta.

PART A: FILL IN THE BLANKS

In a parallel universe, I’d be traveling the world since there is so much to see.

When the Dope crew is getting fucked up, it’s usually dangerous and people get hurt.

When I’m not in a smoke-filled room, boarding and good times take me to new highs.

Hailing from Edmonton has always been dope, and I’m stoked to be from there.

When the snow melts I’m bummed, but summertime is when the girls are looking best and will keep my mind off boarding

D.A.R.E. didn’t really work for me because them cops are crooked.

Outside of rolling with Dope crew, I always like to shred with John Graff, Dylan Vachon, Suppa, Matt Tam, Dave Schmidt, Spencer Rennie, all the Poco homies, Bird Gang and Will Surtees, Pat Samson, burrrks, Cam Taylor, Cody Sheps, all the Snakes, Keenan Filmer, Brennan Kurchak, Will Fraser, Dale Bailey, and all The Source homies because we mob deep.

Back in the day, LSD was legal and it’s great.

Last concert I went to was Roger Waters, The Wall and it was crazy. If there’s anyway you can get an opportunity to see it, I strongly suggest going.

My average Monday, these days, consists of great times, but a weekend is just as good.

In five years, there could be hover boards.

Average number of times the term “Duh” is used in a day has lost count, and it’s only noon

If I had to choose one of the Dope crew to date my sister, it would be Casey Jones

PART B: MULTIPLE CHOICE

When I’m not shredding in the streets, I’m probably:

A) Drinking wheat grass smoothies

B) Hitting the gym

C) Studying for my business degree

D) Volunteering at the old folks home

E) All of the above

Best black-and-white French indie film I’ve seen lately is:

A) L’Amour

B) Je Suis French Indie

C) Quelle Heure Est-il?

D) Gaufres Triste

E) Dope II

My stoner buds couldn’t give any intel to the guys writing these questions, so:

A) They suck.

B) Weed’s wack.

C) Duh.

D) You get what you get.

E) Not surprised at all.

Riding for the Stepchild crew is:

A) Kind of whack; they have brutal graphics and the edges are plastic.

B) OK, but the money isn’t what I expected.

C) Dope except for E-man and Stathis.

D) A good jumping off point for when Walmart hits me up.

E) The only way.

Snowboarding is best in:

A) Whistler, B.C.

B) Rabbit Hill, Edmonton, Alta.

C) Any city with a bud connection and easy setups.

D) Summer on the glacier.

E) Whenever, wherever.

I started shredding because:

A) I couldn’t skate in the winter.

B) Somebody has to hold it down for Edmonton.

C) It’s easier than skating.

D) More people to party with.

E) It’s the life for me.

PART C:  Scale of 1 to 10 (1 = the worst, 10 = the best)

Having hair long enough to braid: 10

Edmonton’s Whyte Ave.: 7.2

Bungees: 5

Alberta’s shred scene: 10

Skating: 10

LSD: 10

Clean livin’: 4.20

Whistler Park: 10

Double Corks: 3.666

PART D: ESSAY QUESTION

Getting this good at shedding the streets wouldn’t have been possible without... All the homies, family, chronic, love, support, snow and good spots. Thanks to all the people who inspired and supported me. I wouldn’t be doing this shit without you.
