Tron Legacy x Burton x Oakley x Hurley x Adidas

Jun 24, 2010

Author: Gerhard Gross

Burton, Oakley, Hurley and Addias are all betting that the 3D Tron Legacy movie due out just before Christmas 2010 will be a blockbuster. Each of the brands have produced collabs with Disney Consumer Products (or DCP, not to be confused with Canada's one and only D.C.P.) that will drop in tandem with the movie's release. The line features dark finishes, holographic treatments and stylish color blocking that complement the film's cyber aesthetic. The collaboration is Disney's first foray into the action sports market.

Tron x Burton Snowboard Boot

Burton
Burton blends their boot functionality and technology, with the graphic look of the original TRON. The boot is made to look like something out of the future, yet seen through the eyes of a snowboarder back in 1982 when the first film released. The boot will be available this winter at select Burton dealers.

Adidas
The Adidas TRON men's collection will include apparel available in December 2010. Product features will include glow in the dark stitch detailing and reflective TRON disk screenprints to echo the lighting, color schemes and self-illuminated costumes featured in the film.

Hurley
Hurley's TRON: Legacy inspired men's collection will include casual sportswear and surfwear inspired by movie characters Sam Flynn and Rinzler. Apparel features include black light effects and symbolic color accents of blue and orange - blue reflecting good, inspired by the main protagonist Sam Flynn vs. orange, representing evil inspired by Rinzler, the evil henchman. The TRON: Legacy men's collection from Hurley will be available at specialty stores, Hurley Stores and boutique stores this winter.

Oakley
Based on sunglasses from Oakley's Elite Collection, a TRON: Legacy inspired design will be available in December. This special edition of the company's Elite Pit Boss™ eyewear features unrivaled OO Polarized lenses with High Definition Optics® (HDO®) and Oakley Hydrophobic lens coating. Engineered with ultra-lightweight titanium plates, the frame is embellished with graphics inspired by the movie. Oakley's TRON Pit Boss will be sold at eyewear specialty stores and optical specialty stores. In addition, a TRON hard-shell backpack will be available.
