PowderQuest is excited to confirm Shin Campos as the lead guide on the Snowboard Argentina Tour exploring Northern Patagonia in August. Although the season down south just started, conditions are already looking good in all three resorts the tour will be visiting. Cerro Catedral is already open with Cerro Bayo and Cerro Chapelco opening this weekend. Two major storms have already deposited large amounts of snow across the Northern Patagonia region with a third currently in the area and continuing through the weekend. Temperatures so far have stayed cold enough for it to snow to the base of Cerro Catedral, something that typically down not happen until a little later in the season.
“Shin is one of the most fun guys to ride with ever,” says PowderQuest's David Owen. "He will change the way you look at the mountain as a snowboarder and make sure you always have a smile on your face. Expect to progress your riding significantly on this trip while creating memories that will last forever."
Shin Campos has been exploring Argentina on his snowboard for many years and has local knowledge of all the best spots to ride. Using this knowledge, Shin helps riders learn to use the mountain as a park, finding natural features of all kinds to learn new skills. This trip helps snowboarders to build confidence in their riding through becoming comfortable in a wide range of terrain and conditions. Participants get to experience three distinct mountain towns in the Andes and are exposed to delicious local food, red wine and comfortable local lodging. Shin says he really stoked to guide this tour with PowderQuest. "It’s always special to head down in mid-summer to Argentina to ride powder and enjoy the amazing steak and wine dinners," says Campos. "Also Argentina is so beautiful with such a different look to the mountains and trees as back here in Canada. Now we can only hope for the deep snow and then this trip will be my summers highlight.”
