SBC's first-ever foray into the movie world, RELAX. premiered at the 2012 Snowboard Canada Party, presented by Monster Energy Friday in front of a packed crowd of 800 shreds at the Opera House in Toronto. Most in the crowd enjoyed complimentary Monster and/or some of the free Pabst Blue Ribbons from the opening Pabst hour, while others were lucky to walk away with some of the thousands of dollars in gear from some of the biggest snowboard companies in the world—all to the beats provided by DJ Illo and DJ D.R. One.
The evening kicked off with the $10,000 award of the SBC Crew Challenge video contest presented by DC, featuring Lost Boys vs 8 Mile vs Videograss vs People. To see coverage of who won click here. Next up was the Toronto premiere of Videograss' Enlighten movie, followed by the world premiere of RELAX. Lots of pros were on hand including Monster team riders Mikey Rencz, Dusty Craven, Eero Niemela, and Charles Reid; RELAX riders Cory Gallon (also on the front cover of the new Snowboard Canada Fall issue) and Tyler Ashbee; plus Andreas Wiig, Benji Ritchie, Chris Grennier, and Scot Brown.
