Nov 28, 2011

Author: SBC

When one hears the word train associated with snowboarding one normally envisions a group of friends charging off a jump, one after another. However, at Le Massif de Charlevoix the word train keeps its traditional meaning as a means of railway transportation.

Le Massif de Charlevoix has announced that the Train of Le Massif de Charlevoix will be in operation this winter to take passengers to the mountain. The train will run along a 140-kilometer stretch of track between Quebec City and La Malbaie. The Train of Le Massif de Charlevoix is equipped with eight cars that can each carry sixty-eight passengers. The inaugural voyage of the mechanically and aesthetically redesigned train occurred in September. Commencing February 2012 the train will begin making regular trips to the mountain.

While aboard the Train of Le Massif de Charlevoix you will be treated to a first-class travel experience. The interiors of the cars have been completely refurbished to provide the utmost in travel comfort. Additionally, each car has a kitchen where meals comprised of regional delicacies are prepared. However, it is perhaps what can be viewed along the route that is most desirable. The natural coastal and mountain landscapes that the tracks pass by are awe-inspiring. Watch the video below to get a sense of some of the scenic vistas along the way.

This February if your are in, or around, Quebec City and your ride to the mountain has hit the snooze button, your car has broken down, you are hurting from an epic night out in Quebec City, or you just feel like being a total big shot - book a ticket aboard the Train of Le Massif de Charlevoix. You will be able to get onboard, and then stay on your board all day as your ride powder at Le Massif de Charlevoix. As the O’Jays harmonizes on their hit Love Train: “Ride, let it ride, let it ride, let it ride.”
