Vans Hi-Standard Series stops at COP

Posted: Mar 14, 2012

This past Saturday was the third stop of the Vans Hi-Standard Series at the COP resort in Calgary, AB. A beautiful sunny day and a solid crew of riders showed us that they can shred with style without mentioning their bottomless bags o' tricks. The stand out rider of the day was Kurt Layton who took MVP, not only for his good looking mustache but for consistent and stylish combinations.

As for the hardest crash, otherwise known as the "Pain Reliever", was issued to Adriane Cairns but we also need to point out that she alongside Carly Scott let the boys know that ladies can shred too! Our Most improved rider of the day was awarded to Drake Miller. Congrats to everyone that came out.

Following the jump session, was the Pro-Tec rail best trick segment with $500 up for grabs. JJ Westburry displayed his well rounded skills in the 15 and Under category going home with $200 big ones and Jordan Blain took $300 in the 16 and Over category. The smooth down rail was attacked with a variety of combo tricks.

These kids showed us that COP locals can get serious and that once again this resort is definitely nurturing a future generation of rippers. See you March 24th for our final event at Ski Bromont in Quebec.
