For Snowboard Canada's Profile Issue (on stands soon) Oli Croteau shot Frank April's 50-50 to 35-foot drop into a concrete bank in Riviere-de-Loup, Quebec. Watch the video to see the drop and hear Frank's side of the story. Here's what Oli had to say about it, straight from pages of the magazine.
Frank rides for Yes, 32, Etnies, LRG, Raiden, Dragon, Dakine, Empire, and Ifound
"I was on on the way back from the Chic Chocs with some Brothers Factory riders when I received a call from Frank April telling me about this great feature. I was super tired and on my way back to my hometown but I had to drive through his hometown of Rimouski on my way so he told me to come by his place and that I’d have to crash there for the night. The only problem was I was driving Frank Bourgeois and SBC writer Dean Seguin to the airport after their trip. So I come back to Québec City and then to my hometown of Trois-Rivières after 10 or 11 hours of driving, take a quick nap from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. and then drive back to Rimouski from my place, which took another three hours. I’ve seen that feature in real life and was super stoked on it but a little bit scared cause it was super high. Frank probably tried it around 8 or 10 times to land it perfect for him. I think it was enough for his knees after that. Thanks to him for insisting I shoot it first thing the next morning on my way back from the Chic Chocs. It’s a great cover!"
